I took a hiatus for a while from the project (end-of-semester annual cold and projects, as well as extensive Christmas travel) , so I’ll need to catch up in the New Year.
The Vatican edition is missing the quilisma on et, so my version, with the quilisma filled in between FA and LA, corresponds with the one in the Graduale Novum.
Long ago, I had underlined adoráre as the focal point of this chant. How often I use the word “adorable” in a context where I’m not actually worshipping that particular object… We are to adore – to worship – the Baby and King of Heaven and Earth.
